What the grades mean

  • Colour E: Colourless. The difference from D shows only in a side-by-side comparison by a trained grader.
  • Clarity VS2: Very slightly included: minor inclusions, a little easier to see under 10× than VS1; usually not visible to the unaided eye.
  • Polish EX: No or hardly any polish marks under 10× magnification.
  • Symmetry EX: Shape and alignment of the facets deviate hardly at all.
  • Fluorescence STG: Strong glow under UV light. In some cases a stone can look slightly hazy in daylight.
