What the grades mean

  • Colour G: Near colourless – first grade of the G to J group. A tint shows only next to higher grades.
  • Clarity VVS2: Very, very slightly included: minute inclusions, very difficult to see under 10×. A little more than VVS1.
  • Cut EX: Top GIA cut grade: proportions and finish return a great deal of light to the viewer.
  • Polish EX: No or hardly any polish marks under 10× magnification.
  • Symmetry EX: Shape and alignment of the facets deviate hardly at all.
  • Fluorescence NON: No reaction under UV light.
