How old are Diamonds

Based on the now large database of isotope data, it can be determined that diamond formation occurred repeatedly at different times throughout all geological eras, and that there are not only very old diamonds that are older than three billion years, but also younger ones that still reach an age of several hundred million years. The oldest known diamond has been dated to be 4.25 billion years old.
